KEY POINTS
I am calling to express my concern regarding the devastating 20% cut to specialty care in the proposed Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) Rule for 2022.
The proposed cuts threaten to drive office-based providers out of business and reduce Medicare beneficiary access.
The 2022 PFS will cause deep cuts to reimbursement for office-based specialties, including cardiology, interventional nephrology, interventional radiology, phlebology, physical therapy, radiation oncology, radiology, vascular surgery, and many more.
Many of the services affected by this Medicare reimbursement cut will impact people of color the hardest, furthering the health inequity gap in the United States. This move will exacerbate health system consolidation and leave patients with fewer choices.
I respectfully ask that Rep. ________ stand up for patients and local health care providers by signing onto the bipartisan letter being led by Rep. Bobby Rush (IL-1) and Rep. Gus Bilirakis (FL-12).
The Rush-Bilirakis letter urges (CMS) not to finalize the clinical labor policy in the 2022 PFS Proposed Rule and to work with Congress on fundamental reform of the Physician Fee Schedule.
